Delhi: The Delhi police is examining the legal liability of Uber cab services in the light of fake police verification certificate issued to the accused in rape case of a 27 year old woman in a cab in the national capital. This statement has been issued by the Delhi Commissioner of Police B. S. Bassi.
In light of this fake identification certificate, the Delhi government has issued a notification banning activities of Uber in Delhi. The police is also examining the action which could be taken against Uber for not fulfilling its promises.
Talking about steps taken in the Capital for ensuring women’s safety, Bassi said that 5,000 cameras have been installed already while 10,000 more are proposed to be installed in various parts of the city.
