CBI: No evidence found in Badaun sisters case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has not found any evidence of murder or sexual assault in its investigation into the death of teenage sisters, whose bodies were found hanging from a tree in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh in May 2014.

The CBI has decided to not file a charge sheet against the five accused persons in this case. The Agency has taken this decision due to lack of any evidence that those two girls were murdered or sexually assaulted before their death. Report by the Agency will likely be filed on 28 November, 2014.
