2. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor for respondent-State

submitted that the respondent No.1, present in the Court has been

identified to be the complainant/first-informant of the FIR in question

by her counsel.

3. The factual matrix of the present case is that the marriage

between the petitioner no.1 and the respondent no.1 was solemnized

on 02.04.2006 as per Hindu (Sikh) rites and ceremonies. After the

marriage, it was disclosed to the complainant that petitioner no.1 has

solemnized three marriages and has two daughters. The accused

persons were not satisfied with the cash and dowry articles given in

the marriage and used to taunt her. On 06.04.2006, on the instigation

of her mother and daughter, gave severe beatings to the complainant

and also extended threats to throw her out of the matrimonial house.

On 17.04.2006, the complainant along with her husband went to her

parental home, where, the petitioner no.1 demanded a Rado watch,

and misbehaved with them. Later, the husband of the complainant

along with his sister, mother and daughters started inflicting cruelty

on her. On 09.11.2006, the daughter of the petitioner no.1 even tried

to kill the complainant by burning her and had even put her shawl on

fire but the complainant was saved. On 18.05.2007, the complainant

was again beaten up by the petitioners/accused and was thrown out of

the matrimonial house.
