1. By way of this petition filed under Section 482 of the Code of
Criminal Procedure, 1973, petitioners seek quashing of FIR No.106/2012
registered at Police Station Mangolpuri, Delhi, for the offences punishable

under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC and the consequential proceedings
emanating therefrom against them.

2. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits that
the aforesaid case was registered on the complaint of respondent No.2,
namely, Smt. Rehnuma @ Renu. The matter is at the initial stage of trial as
cognizance has not yet been taken against the petitioners. Thereafter, the
petitioner No.1 and respondent No.2 have settled their disputes before the
Delhi Mediation Centre, Rohini District Courts, Delhi, vide
settlement/agreement dated 20.08.2015 for a total sum of Rs.1,95,000/-
(One Lakh Ninety Five Thousand). As per the said settlement, two
installments of Rs.65,000/- (Sixty Five Thousand) each have been paid to
the respondent No.2 on 17.09.2015 and 27.11.2015 respectively. The
balance amount of Rs.65,000/- (Sixty Five Thousand) is paid today in cash
in the Court. Consequent to such settlement, marriage between the
petitioner No.1 and respondent No.2 has been dissolved by Muslim
Customary Rites by pronouncing Talaq on 17.09.2015. To this effect, the
respondent No.2 made a statement before the learned Judge, Family Court,
North West Rohini, Delhi on 17.09.2015.
