1. By way of this petition filed under Section 482 of the Code of
Criminal Procedure, 1973, petitioners seek quashing of FIR
No.178/2014 registered at Police Station North Rohini, Delhi, for the
offences punishable under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC and the
consequential proceedings emanating therefrom against them.

2. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits
that the aforesaid case was registered on the complaint of respondent
No.2, namely, Dr.Jaswinder Kaur, consequent upon certain
matrimonial and domestic disputes having arisen between the parties.
The case is at the initial stage of trial as charge sheet has been filed,
however, charge is not yet framed against the petitioners. Meanwhile,
the respondent No.2 and the petitioner No.1 have amicably settled their
disputes before the Mediation Centre, Rohini District Courts, New
Delhi, vide settlement dated 03.03.2015, for a total sum of
Rs.2,25,000/- (Two Lakhs Twenty Five Thousand). As agreed, two
instalments of Rs.1,15,000/- (One Lakh Fifteen Thousand) and
Rs.55,000/- (Fifty Five Thousand) were paid at the time of recording
first motion petition and second motion petition for divorce by mutual
consent respectively and the balance amount of Rs.55,000/- (Fifty Five
Thousand) is paid today in the Court by way of demand draft bearing
No.020430 dated 14.03.2016 drawn on Axis Bank Ltd., which facts
have not been disputed by the respondent No.2.
