1. These criminal appeals are directed against the impugned
judgment dated 22nd December, 2009 in CC No.115/2009 arising out
of FIR 43/99 u/s 7, 8 and 13 of Prevention of Corruption Act
(hereinafter referred to as “the Act”) registered at PS AC Branch

passed by Special Judge (PC Act)-06, Tis Hazari Delhi vide which
Madan Gopal Singhal (A1) was convicted for offence under Section 7
r/w Section 13(1)(d) punishable u/s 13(2) of the Act and Narender
Kumar (A2) for offence under Section 8 of the Act and vide order
dated 24.12.2009 sentenced A1 to undergo rigorous imprisonment for
a period of one year with fine of Rs.5000/- for the offence punishable
under Section 7 of the Act in default to undergo simple imprisonment
for a period of one month. For the offence punishable under Section
13(1)(d) r/w Section 13(2) of the Act, he was sentenced to undergo
rigorous imprisonment for a period of one year with fine of Rs.5000/-
in default to undergo simple imprisonment for one month. Both the
sentences were to run concurrently.
