Kerala government to move liquor outlets from national highways – directed the HC

Kerala High Court has directed the state government to shift state owned liquor retail outlets located on national highways and service roads.

This situation came to light when one P K Mohammed of Karunagapally filed an PIL complaining of frequent accidents and traffic congestion due to functioning of these outlets run by the Beverages Corporation.

The Bench comprising of Acting Chief Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice A M Shaffique has directed the government to file a progress report within three weeks.
