CBI has material against “private parties” and “government officials” in Hindalco Case

1 min read

CBI has taken a stand now, contrary to its earlier stand, that there is “prima facie” evidence against the “private parties” and “government officials”. This case dealt with allocation of Talabira II coal blocks in Odisha to Hindalco, owned by the Kumar Mangalam Birla Group.

The case was taken in front on Special Judge Bharat Parashar, and Special Public Prosecutor R S Cheema argued that there is enough evidence on record to take cognisance of offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act and Indian Penal Code, against “some government officials” and “private parties”.
